On Doctor's Orders

If I've been falling behind on my blog posts lately, I do apologise.

The reason for this is that I went to see my doctor last week due to feeling dizzy for the past few weeks. After some blood tests, it was found I had high cholesterol...his diagnosis was that I must change my lifestyle and exercise regularly.

So yesterday and because the sun was shining and the temperature was in the mid twenties, I went on a 27 mile bike ride. Yes I know you're supposed to break yourself in gently, but I don't like to do things by halves. I'm certainly feeling it today though along with the sunburn on my arms and face :)

Here's a link to some scenic pictures I took while on the bike ride that I've posted on Facebook:

As the Easter weekend is nearly upon us, I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a Happy Easter. I hope to be back to normal on the blog after the holidays...with healthy eating and a little bit of exercise in between my posts of course :)

Until then, have a great Easter!

  2. Take care Derek, you look about the age when I had my first of three warnings, I was one of the lucky ones. Most men have their first heart attack in their 40s and die from it.Started eating right and working out..people tend to think you can get away with one or the other..you need to do both. Keep well my friend take it as natures warning and a gentle one at that.

  4. I think starting with a big bang is not a good idea. In matters of health slow and steady wins the race. I myself need to restart my exercise regime.

  7. Thank you for your comment Prasad.

I wouldn't normally do such strenuous exercise to start with but I felt good on the day and obviously got carried away :)

Readers should certainly take your advice though and start slow and steady.

Thanks again Prasad and have a great Easter.
